Pollination

Q3: What is the difference between "pollination" and "fertilization?"

Pollination is the transfer of pollen from the anther of one plant to the stigma of the same or another plant. Fertilization is the joining of a sperm (from the pollen grain) with the egg in the ovule. In flowering plants, including Fast Plants, double fertilization occurs. Double fertilization involves the joining of one sperm with the egg and a second sperm with the fusion nucleus to form the triploid endosperm.
