Grading student papers can be a challenging proposition for teachers. Although we value each of you as students and individuals, we are required to somehow attach a quantitative measurement of your achievement to your name at the end of the semester. Sometimes we must make difficult judgement calls. Sometimes we make mistakes.
If you believe we have made an error in scoring, addition, or valuation of your work (essays or short answers), please bring it to our attention so that it may be corrected. The following is the ONLY procedure that is acceptable in this class:
Realize that any paper submitted for re-grading will be completely re-graded, not just the disputed question(s).
Staple to the top of the test a typed letter including your name, student number, section (8am or 11am) and a specific description of the item or items you believe were misgraded or miscalculated.
Be sure to provide a detailed written explanation of why you believe your answer is correct. Include any descriptive explanation which you feel is appropriate.
Deliver this package to Dr. Racich either in person or in his box outside the Biology office within one week after the graded tests are distributed.
Re-grading will be performed as promptly as practicable.
