Libocedrus yateensis Guillaumin

Allied to L. austro-caledonica (2).

Description

"A monoecious tree, about [8 m] high, with very fragrant wood. Branches up to about [1.8 m] long, the lower horizontal, the upper at an angle of about 30° from the trunk, branching mainly near their tips. Adult leaves decussate, the lateral pairs [3-4 mm] long, curved, convex on the dorsal edge, pointed; facial leaves [2-3 mm] long, pointed. Male strobili with 16 - 20, decussate sporophylls. Cones ovoid, about [10 mm] long; the 2 fertile scales about [10 mm] long, the sterile pair about [7.5 mm] long" (2).
