Taxonomic notes

Although formerly treated as a synonym of Juniperus pseudosabina, RAPD analysis has shown it to be quite distinct from that taxon (1). See J. pseudosabina and (1) for remarks on the relationship between J. indica and other central Asian / Himalayan junipers.
